John Lee Hooker: Plays and Sings the Blues LP [PRE-ORDER]

First released on Chess Records in 1961, Plays & Sings The Blues collects the studio singles John Lee Hooker cut in 1950 and 1952. It’s Hooker at his rawest: just his voice, his guitar, and that signature foot tap driving every beat.

Highlights include “The Journey,” “Mad Man Blues,” “Hey Boogie,” and his take on “Please Don’t Go.”

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Chess Records, this audiophile reissue from Acoustic Sounds is remastered from the original analog tapes and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings. It comes in a tip-on gatefold sleeve.

Please note this is a pre-order item. Orders containing this item will begin fulfilling December 18th, 2026.
